Non-handed, these locks do not need to be taken apart to be used with either left - or right-handed doors, and can be installed in minutes.

In pre-bored doors, the patented Johnson lock is sized to fit standard 2-1/8" dia. bores and 2-3/8" backset openings -- without alteration.  That's particularly important to homeowners and contractors who often find that the cutting necessary to install other locks ultimately voids a door's warranty.

The locks are extremely easy to use.  They latch automatically when closed, bringing the added benefit of closing the door completely the first time without bouncing.  Unlatching is simple also:  a single touch of the button in the center of the pull is all it takes, leaving the hand in perfect position to open the door.  To lock, just press the smaller button and the other side is locked out until opened again from inside.  There is a safety release located discreetly on the outer side in case of emergencies -- especially reassuring to parents.
